Make Hearts for Soldiers, Volunteers Needed, Super Bowl Sunday and More

1. Garden Road and Fieldhome Make Hearts for Soldiers
Elementary students from The Garden Road School will join seniors from The Seabury at Fieldhome to present hand-crafted Valentine Hearts of Gratitude created for soldiers overseas and veterans from the VA Hospital in Montrose. The ceremony, which will take place today at 2 p.m. at The Seabury at Fieldhome, 2276 Catherine St in Cortlandt, is part of an ongoing relationship between the students and residents at the assisted living facility. 3. Volunteers Needed to Give Rides to Seniors in Northern Westchester
Volunteers are needed for a start-up program to provide free rides for seniors in northern Westchester who need to go to the doctor’s office for an appointment, the local mall for shopping, the hairdresser for a touch-up, a friend’s home for a leisurely visit or for any other reason. 4. Congratulations Toriana Patterson
The Georgia soccer team has signed on Toriana Patterson, of Yorktown who is also ranked #54 on ESPN recruit. According to this article, "Patterson was named all-league, all-conference and all-section in 2011. With her club team in NY, she won a state championship in 2008 and 2010, and played for the New York state ODP squad from 2004-08. She is already an international player, as well, as a member of the Jamaica U-20 National Team."
5. Super Bowl Sunday
The Super Bowl is on Sunday, and in honor of the classic Super Bowl snack, Yorktown Patch is asking you: Who has the best wings in town? You've got until 5 p.m. on Friday to submit your comments. The winner will be announced on Sunday.
