1. "Winter Recess" Open House At Bounce The Party Place
Bounce The Party Place in Yorktown Heights will have a "Winter Recess" open house today, Feb. 22 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Children, ages 10 and younger, can have unlimited access to arcade games and inflatables all day for $15. For more information, call 914-302-2403.
2. Pirate School – Library Event
The John C. Hart Library is hosting an event during the winter break. David Engel presents "Pirate School! with Billy Bones the (Generally) Good Pirate" on Saturday, Feb. 25 at 2 p.m. for families with children ages 4 and up. Tickets available on Jan. 7. For more information, call 914-245-5262.
3. What Are You Giving Up for Lent?
Mardi Gras, celebrated yesterday, refers to events of the Carnival celebrations, beginning on or after Epiphany and culminating on the day before Ash Wednesday. Mardi gras is French for Fat Tuesday, referring to the practice of the last night of eating richer, fatty foods before the ritual fasting of the Lenten season.
Today is Ash Wednesday and it is the first day of Lent. It occurs 46 days before Easter. What are you giving up this year for lent?
