  • Bio: At age 15, I moved to Westchester with my family, and now I call the town of Yorktown home. Before becoming the Yorktown editor, I was a freelance writer. I have a Bachelor's degree in Journalism and a minor in History from Boston University. I've written articles on various topics for the Boston Metro and my alma mater's independent student newspaper The Daily Free Press. My investigative story on Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick has appeared in The Daily News Tribune.

Your Beliefs

At Patch, we promise always to report the facts as objectively as possible and otherwise adhere to the principles of good journalism. However, we also acknowledge that true impartiality is impossible because human beings have beliefs. So in the spirit of simple honesty, our policy is to encourage our editors to reveal their beliefs to the extent they feel comfortable.

This disclosure is not a license for you to inject your beliefs into stories or to dictate coverage according to them. In fact, the intent is the opposite: we hope that the knowledge that your beliefs are on the record will cause you to be ever mindful to write, report and edit in a fair, balanced way. And if you ever see evidence that we failed in this mission, please let us know.

Politics

    * How would you describe your political beliefs? Moderate. But I think that decisions shouldn't be based on political party affiliations, but facts and qualifications.

Religion

    * Do you consider yourself religious? I believe in a higher power. But I go to church mostly on major holidays.

      * Do you identify with a certain religion? If so, which one? Christian- more specifically Eastern Orthodox.

Local Hot Button Issues

    * What do you think are the most important issues facing the community? Taxes and educational quality.

    * Where do you stand on each of these issues? As I become more involved in the community, I would be able to better touch upon specific hot button issues. Engaging and talking with your neighbors is a great way to learn.
