About Stu

I grew up on Long Island and majored in both Marine Science and Photo-Communications at the University of Miami.  I live in Buchanan with my wife and son where I am an Assistant Chief and EMT in the Buchanan Fire Department.   I've been a photojournalist working in Westchester County for more than 25 years having worked at The Journal News, The Peekskill Evening Star and The Patent Trader newspapers and at Union Carbide Corporation as an industrial photographer.  My work has won awards from the National Press Photographer's Asn, New York Press Photographer's Asn., New York Associated Press, Pictures of the Year International and the Society of Newspaper Design.  My work has also appeared in Sports Illustrated, The New York Times, US News and World report and USA Today.  I look forward to the   opportunities offered by Patch.com to tell stories through my photographs.

So frequently we depend on journalism for proper spelling, grammar, etc., which is why it is so surprising to see the common grammatical mistake of "it's" instead of"its" in your "Passover at the Farm" piece - i.e., "...educate it's members." Either you or your editor should have caught that.
